These are some kaleidoscopes made in both light room and photoshop. The original images for these kaleidoscopes were rich in texture which gives each one a very detailed appearance. I drastically changed the colors in each of the images, to stray away from the original image. Also some major cropping was done to dramatize each kaleidoscope.

Project 4 Part 2
Here is an image of two different trees put together in the form of a diptych. The photo is very symmetrically balanced with the tree trunks branching in opposite directions. In both images I did similar editing. I increased the saturation, and the hue. Along with that the clarity and contrast to make the bark really pop out.
Both these photos come from Iceland. So in this diptych, I wanted to prove that it's not all ice. There is a contrast in texture between the ice water and rock that make the single image much more vibrant and appealing. They fit well together because of similar colors, and location.
All three of these were taken within a 20 foot radius of each other, which is why they work so well together. The increase in saturation of the red makes it really feel like a fall in Italy. Also the rusted truck and its texture adds to mood. It reminds me of the stereotypical photo from the 80's where the colors are not really balanced after processing the film.
These are the walls of antique houses in Pompeii. It's beautiful to see how well preserved the walls are, and how over time different building techniques were used. The variation in texture adds an interesting aspect to the photo. Reminds me of a grid that I saw in a art museum titled, "Doors of Milano", only difference that the grid was about doors instead of walls.
Project 4 Part 1
This is a contrast in scale between the big tuscan fruit and the smaller ones in the back. It gives the viewer a sense of depth or something that they can relate to. Also look how small the branch is compared to the fruit. In terms of editing, I really liked the saturation of the red and the hazy background. To get the hazy background, I put the clarity all the war down. Then used the brush tool on the fruit and increased the clarity, to enhance the focus on the ingle fruit.
This is actually a widow from within the Vatican museum, showing the lovely garden outside. Not only is it a frame within a frame, but it really shows a contrast in color. Between the white/green garden and the dark interior of the museum. I was able to do minimal editing because when I took the picture I set the exposure really high, intending this effect.
I really liked this depth of view photo, with the tremendous amount of contrast in texture between the eroded marble, the brick pavement, and the smooth marble of the church. The church is in a small town in the center of Italy called Assisi, and the church itself is named after the San Francesco, who was known for his "magical powers", and the good things he did to save peoples lives during the earthquake of 1247.

Color Post
This is the introduction to the "Color and Grid Project".
Color Wheel:
A Photo that Shows Mood/Tone Because of Color:
This photograph by Antony Spencer clearly show mood/tone due to the complimentary colors that are present within it. The purple from the lavender flowers, and the yellow from the sun compliment each other. This gives the viewer a very confused feel/mood. It also makes your eyes really focus on left portion of the picture, and give the right portion of the picture a more doomsday mood. In terms of editing, I can see a little of a vignette on the right portion, and I'm sure shadows were increased, along with saturation to create more of a contrast between the shun and the flowers.

Project 1 (30x2)
Subject 1: My Garden In the Light
This is a plant that sits to the side of my driveway, and I selected it because of its simplicity, and beautiful nature between the mixture of light and the saturation. In terms of editing, I lowered the brightness, and increased the saturation giving it a dark yet rich appeal.
This is the same plant from above, but with this one here I wanted to change the mood that the photo gave to the viewer. Hence, I made the image black and white, and added a nice red filter to get rid of the darker color from the plant. But I wanted to keep its liveliness, so I increased the brightness to get the sun to really stand out. I chose this photo because it does a nice job integrating a dark gloomy mood, with an energetic and content feel.
This is the car that sits in my backyard/garden, and I chose it because I love the sun flares that I managed to capture with my camera. And also the reflections of the glistening silver metal of the car. In terms of edits, I increased the saturation, rotated and cropped the photo, increased the contrast and lowered the brightness. I really like the uplifting mood of the photo, and how the contrast darkened the areas that were not a part of the main subject.
Subject 2: Pioneer Square
This was taken while siting down in Pioneer Square, and I chose it because I really like long exposure photos, even though it's not really one. I edited it increasing the brightness and saturation, to get a similar effect. I also cropped the entire left side, and rotated it to give it a modern style of photography.
Right behind from the one above I found this really cool fountain. I've always loved taking photos of water, and this was no exception. The flow of the water, and the length of the exposure give it a nice flowing feel. If I had my actual camera I could have done some really cool things with the water. Yet editing wise, I made the image black and white, and decreased the brightness and saturation, to give it a dark and depressing tone.
I took this photo at the max stop on pioneer square, and I just really like how the bright colors pop out a lot, and the darker colors recede. Also, intentionally having the subject in the center gives the viewer the a good feel of depth, and perception. In terms of editing I increased the contrast and saturation, and lowered the brightness. I really having the bright colors pop out, and have the darker colors recede, it just adds the the life of the photo,

My Summer
My summer was not as exciting as previous years, but I made the most out of it. It started of with my first day of summer rowing. It went well but became a bit repetitive as the season progressed. During that time my grandparents came to visit for two weeks. It was really excited to see them, for last time I saw them was a year ago. Then my family and I went to Hood river for two weeks and spent the time kiteboarding, and paddle boarding. Both were extremely fun. Shortly after that, my cousins came. They were here for two weeks as well. It was really fun to see them, especially how much they had grown. With them we rented a house in the gorge and spent the time relaxing and enjoying the sun. Following their departure I spent the time hanging out with my friends and working on my very annoying health online course.
A photo of me mid air kiteboarding!
